Question:
Should we trap our job?
Answer:
If you are currently trapping your own work within the given software application and wish to take full responsibility for the trapping, you certainly can trap the files. Often we receive files that are only partially trapped or incorrectly trapped and it is more expensive to undo or redo the trapping which is necessary. We have several special software tools that allow us to trap where your application software won't (i.e. blend to blend). If you have already partially trapped the files and we have to use a software tool to do the balance of the trapping, we must first remove all of the existing trapping information or the trap will double. Our advice is to let professionals deal with all trapping issues. Set the trapping specifications in the document to none. It is more economical and you'll get a better job this way.
